Date: Friday, October 25th, 2024
Time: 10 - 12pm CST/ 11 - 1pm EST
Description: As professionals in the Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health field, we know that the birthing process impacts the caregiver, baby, and family system in a profound way. This training aims to enhance the knowledge of the birthing process by highlighting the vital importance of differing birthing cultures, as they are woven into each of our stories. Exploration and education on a variety of cultures, including voices from Indian, Afghanistan, Asian, and African mothers, will highlight experiences that provide awareness, reflection, and discussion to attendees. Attendees will have the honor of hearing mothers share the beauty of their own cultural birthing norms, forms of attachment, and bonding methods. Attendees will hopefully leave session taking that beauty with them into their daily practice, with the resounding anthem that belonging is not a place, but a way of being for all.
