Description: Introduction to AIMHiTN new Emergency Response Toolkit: An Early Relational Approach Home Visitor Edition. The toolkit is designed to help home visitors understand the social emotional impact of disasters on families. While also providing early relational techniques for helping caregivers create comprehensive emergency response plans. We will provide guidance on how to utilize the toolkit to work with families on preparing, responding, and recovering from emergency events. This includes natural disasters, but also tools for responding to events such as gun violence or grieving.
Katie Woodard,BS, IMH-E®
Katie joined the AIMHiTN team in January 2022. In 2012, she graduated from Tennessee Tech University with a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Family Relations. This event emphasized to Katie the crucial need to prepare children, educators, and families for emergencies, not just physically but also from a social and emotional standpoint.
Outside of her professional life, she is a devoted Christian, wife, and mother. In her free time, she loves creating treasured memories with her my family, reading a captivating book, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
