Technology is rapidly changing children's childhoods and home environments. As professionals, we see this first hand in our daily work. Prompting the question: "can technology aid in development?" Enabling children to participate in digital play offers them the chance to enhance critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and form social connections within a safe and supportive setting. During the workshop, participants will explore the concept of digital play, its positive impact on a child’s development, and the creation of a unique learning environment for children to interact and engage. Participants will increase their understanding of effectively supporting digital play among children and will be provided with the necessary tools and strategies to confidently incorporate digital play.

Rachel M. Ross, LCSW, RPT-S

Rachel M. Ross, LCSW, RPT-S, has been leading as the President of the Tennessee Association for Play Therapy since September 2022. She currently holds the position of Assistant Professor of Practice at the University of Tennessee in the College of Social Work. Rachel is a proud graduate of the University of Tennessee, holding a master's degree in Social Work. With 22 years of experience, she has focused her clinical practice on supporting children and families affected by trauma-related mental health issues.
