The FAN approach provides a framework for people to feel connected and understood within the relationship to be open to change. The FAN tool teaches IECMH Professionals to read cues from caregivers and themselves and thus, provide empathetic and appropriate responses. In this training, participants will hear about the 5 wedges: Calming, Feeling, Thinking, Doing, and Reflecting. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with each other to explore the FAN and discuss ways to bring it into their work
