Frequently Asked Questions:

Who can participate?

Any Child Welfare professional in Tennessee can apply for the certificate program. This includes professionals working in Safe Baby Court, CASA, DCS employees, and any other professionals working in Child Welfare.

What is the cost?

This certificate program is available to TN Child Welfare Professionals at no-cost.

How long will the certificate program last?

The certificate program will run for six months. The first cohort will begin in April 2024 and will conclude in September 2024.

How much time will be required to complete the certificate program?

The certificate program will include six learning blocks. Each learning block will include 2-3 hours of participation per month. Approximately two hours will take place via an online learning platform and can be completed at the participant's convenience.

What is a Reflective Practice space and why is it part of the process?

Much of the certificate program can be completed as the learner's schedule allows. The reflective practice spaces will promote a time for learners to come together, consider the information in the learning block by asking questions, thinking about how to apply the concepts to daily work, and build community with other Child Welfare professionals across the state. There will be six one-hour reflective practice spaces offered throughout the certificate program. Attendance at four of the six is required. Reflective Practice spaces will be offered via Zoom and there will be at least two options offered per month.
